Have you recently become the owner of our newly purchased keyboard or mouse and want to ensure everything works as it should before your first use? Or perhaps you already own a slightly older peripheral and, during intense online gaming sessions, have encountered situations where it seemed your demise was due to unresponsive equipment rather than frayed nerves and sluggish reflexes?

Whether you fall into the first or the second category, the solution is the same: testing your keyboard or mouse to check if the equipment meets your expectations. There are many ways to do this. The most rudimentary method would be opening Notepad and painstakingly pressing every key while combining them with Shift. However, even then, you might not be entirely certain about the functionality of all the keys – after all, testing Ctrl and Alt this way can be nearly impossible.

We’ve created a simple solution to this problem, one that also covers scenarios like accidentally spilling a drink on your keyboard and suddenly being unsure whether the keys are still responding.

Our solution is simply called “Keyboard Tester” and is available in both English and Slovenian. Click the link, and a virtual keyboard will open before you, diligently detecting each pressed key, displaying it at the top of the screen, and even recognizing keys like Alt, Ctrl, and Pause Break, practically covering everything found on modern keyboards. The tool also supports mouse tracking, allowing you to check the left or right click, play with the scroll wheel, and monitor the precise current coordinates of your mouse. This way, you can verify if the cursor might be moving on its own or if there’s dirt on the sensor affecting its functionality.
