Hey!
We want to provide you with transparent information about upcoming changes that will affect UVI PC pricing and availability in the coming months.
Industry-Wide RAM Shortage Impact
The computer industry is currently experiencing significant RAM (memory) shortages coupled with unprecedented price increases. This global supply chain disruption is affecting all PC manufacturers and system builders, and we feel it’s important to communicate how this will impact our customers.
We stocked RAM in September and October for 6 months of prebuilds, but due to the high demand for UVI PC prebuilds, we will run out of RAM in January. You can expect price increases at the start of January on all our prebuilds.
What’s Happening
Over the past several weeks, RAM prices have increased substantially due to:
- Global supply constraints affecting memory chip production
- Insane increased demand in the AI sector
- Manufacturing capacity limitations at major production facilities (RAM brand, named Crucial, is fully focused on AI business customers)
These factors have created a perfect storm that is impacting the entire PC building industry.
How This Affects You
Price Increases: Beginning in the coming weeks, we anticipate necessary price adjustments on our PC systems. While we’ve absorbed costs where possible, the scale of RAM price increases makes some adjustments unavoidable.
Configuration Limitations: Due to component shortages, we anticipate that our high-end PC builds with 64GB RAM may be temporarily unavailable or in short supply.
There is a price limit we are willing to pay for RAM: With the current shortage of 64GB RAM, we can’t absorb or even split the insane price with the customer to provide builds we can proudly stand by. We believe there is a price limit for PC prebuilds.
Our Commitment and Recommendations
- Quality: We will never compromise on component quality or system reliability
- Fair Pricing: We’re working directly with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing
- Customer Service: Our team is available to discuss alternatives and answer questions
- Be flexible with RAM configurations if you have timing constraints (consider 32GB and add more RAM later)
- Order sooner rather than later to lock in current pricing, where possible. In 2026, graphics cards will also be affected by RAM shortage, and a minimum of 10% price increase is expected in January.
Moving Forward
We’re actively monitoring the situation and working with multiple suppliers to minimize disruption. While we cannot control global supply chains, we can control how we respond to these challenges and how we serve you.
This situation seems NOT to be temporary, and RAM shortages are expected throughout the whole year of 2026.
